Hey Guys!

I just did a Google search for this blog. Even though I've done sporadic posts over the years, as recently as two years ago, I notice the post Google chooses to show first in a search is 13 years old!

In internet terms, that means my previous most noteworthy post was closer to the invention of the World Wide Web than the day of that post is to today.

So I'll break the silence with a small observation: On YouTube channels aimed at kids and adolescents, the vast majority of these videos start with the same phrase, namely "Hey Guys!" I'm talking about thousands of videos with the very same intro phrase.

In other news, in 2004, Facebook didn't exist, YouTube didn't exist, as well as most of today's most popular websites. Google was popular and successful by then, but they hadn't even had their IPO yet. Just for fun, here are the top 15 web sites from 2004. Have you been to Lycos or Excite lately?
