Just like old times, except for the cellphones

My nephew is visiting Southern California, in the midst of considering a move for college. I took him around Cal State Long Beach yesterday, and it was great to walk around that campus again. I was showing him the place, but walking down memory lane myself. I found the campus reasuuringly familiar, as nice as I recall, and enhanced in places, though the students all seemed much too young to be there. We went in to the library, and I thought about how I'd gladly accept a job where my duties would be to arrive at the library each morning, read whatever I wanted, and go home at the end of the day. Of course, that's pretty much what I did when I went there.
