Have you ever heard of Broadway Photo? Or Digital Liquidators? They advertise heavily with full-page ads in camera and electronics magazines. There are many stores similar to these, that return camera prices far below list on price comparison websites. Many have great ratings on some of the prominent shopping sites.

It is so hard for me to convince people that many, actually most stores of this ilk, even the ones with color full-page ads in camera magazines every month, are bad news. The common practice of padded online ratings with thousands of false good reviews don’t help, either. Resellerratings.com has been infiltrated less, but people don’t check there typically.

Finally, someone has made it easy to get the idea. Check out the business location of the aforementioned merchants.

What a great idea! This guy has posted photos of nearly all the Brooklyn and Manhattan camera stores, and exposed most of them for what they truly are. Some of these are downright comical, not unlike a certain diploma-for-a-price "college" I used to drive past that was about the size of a 7-11, yet ran beautiful ads in airline magazines. What about a place in New York I often recommend, B&H Photo? That’s right, a clean and well-stocked store that takes up a whole city block. No, all New York stores are not bad. B&H, Adorama, and J&R have been great to deal with. Just remember, for every reputable store, there are dozens of stores that you don’t want to do business with. Do your homework!

Wow, "diploma for a price" business. That is pretty funny. Some people are just shameless.

Now just where was that place located?
